Following spring 2022 performances are non-verbal or performed in English:

– The best puppet show ever made
(non verbal)

Funny is a five-star performance on its way to world fame. This dreamy and distorted spectacle contains hints of pop culture and nursery rhymes, a great amount of stage charisma and some incredibly invisible puppet manipulation. Armed with puppets, physical theater and video projections, the show is both humorous and yet brings in some important and current themes of societal violence and mental health.

Kuva: Gemma Tweedie

The Gynecologist
(non verbal)

A journey into the inner world of the body told through the language of mime. The performance combines audiovisual design with carefully detailed miming, the tradition of physical theatre with modern storytelling, and science with art.

The performance created by specialists in physical comedy operates in two coexisting spaces and scales, looking at the eco-catastrophe with a uterine hysteroscope.

Mullin Mallin
(non verbal)

A show that creates adventures in the everyday environment! Mullin mallin (finnish for topsy-turvy) is a solo performance for children. The outdoors performance plays with sounds, materials, colors and shapes.

Mullin mallin was created by choreographer-dancers’ Lin Dan and Heli Keskikallio, and sound designer Jyri Pirinen.

Note! The performance is held outside, regardless of the weather.

How to get here

Itäinen Rantakatu 64, 20810 Turku

Our theatre resides in Manilla - an old yellow factory complex transformed to a hub of theatre, puppetry, dance and visual arts. Manilla is located on the eastern bank of the river Aura, near the ferry Föli and a supermarket bearing the same name.

Walk into our courtyard and walk up the steps on the left, or you can use the walkway that starts at the back of the courtyard. You enter through a brown door, just walk straight and you’ll arrive in our cozy lobby equipped with our bar, where you can refresh yourself with a cup of coffee or enjoy a beer before or after the show.

Our main entrance is accessible via a wide ramp. When using the ramp, you may need an assistant (Manilla, Itäinen Rantakatu 64). Personal assistants are welcome free of charge. We have an accessible toilet located next to the main entrance, clear pathways and a ramp for wheelchairs to the mainstage.

Our small stage Vintti has an accessible entrance via Vilhonkatu. The door is 900 mm wide and has a doorstep. The pathway is 810 mm wide from the narrowest point. We don’t have induktion loop.

TEHDAS Theatre operates mainly in Finnish, but many of the performances are in English or nonverbal. Unfortunately we don’t have a subtitle service.

If you use a wheelchair or have any questions about accessibility, please be in contact in advance so we ensure a pleasant visit with us. Phone 050 412 2344 (Mondays to Fridays from 10-15) or by emailing us at
